"management
is planning process, organizing, guidance and effort observation
membered organisational and another organisational resource purposes
that reach organization aim already established”
Management is the process of
designing and maintaining an environment in which individuals, working
together in groups, efficiently accomplish selected goals1.
In other words, “Management is the process of planning,
organizing, leading, and controlling the efforts of organization members
and of using all other organizational resources to achieve stated
organizational goals”2.
Management
focuses on the entire organization from both a short and a long-term
perspective. Management aims to increase the effectiveness of
organizations. It's about making the most of the resources entrusted to
you, and making sure the expectations of customers, employees and
shareholders are met.
Traditionally,
management includes the following:
- planning
- organizing
- leading
- controlling
More specifically, management is responsible for the
primary activities of the firm; those being inbound logistics,
operations, outbound logistics, marketing and sales, and service.
Management is also responsible for the support activities
of infrastructure (accounting, finance, strategic planning), human
resource management (recruiting, training and development, compensation
management), technology development (product and process improvement),
and procurement (material acquisition).
Management
crosses cultural boundaries as most organizations of significant size
operate internationally. Primary and support activities are performed in
an international context.
2. Do you need management?
Example for the littlest thing in my life , I really need management , I need to arrange my schedule by the time . what time I must sleep ?
what time I must wake up ?
what time I must take a bath ?
what time I must go to campus ?
what time I must have meal ?
these are kind of easly management.
3. What Do You Think About Management ?
When we learn about management ,therefor we will find that management meanings , so i think management meanings are ,
1.Management is a procces which goals and purposes are being attended, and watched by the leader.Then, management is passion, dream, and act to be made and reached come true , and it is being attended as well as together to get our own goals.
2.management is part of colectivity of human as resources
3.Management is a part of arts and also knowledge
4. Management is also responsible for the support activities of infrastructure kind of accounting, finance, strategic planning, etc.
5. Management involves the activities to control and monitor the people in an organization to achieve the desired goals of the organization. The roles of management include planning, organizing, staffing, directing and monitoring the employees
6. Management is the prosess of getting activities complete efficiently and effectively with and throgh other people
4. What Does The Effective and efficient meanings ?
"Efficient" is defined as working without waste or using a minimum of time, effort and expense. But, the definition is silent about the goals of the operation. A person can be very efficient at what they are doing but still not get to where they want to be because they aren't doing the right things. That's where "effective" comes in.
"Effective" means "having the desired result". Once the desired overall result is defined, the tasks leading to the result can be isolated and these tasks can then be completed efficiently. While this seems obvious, actual execution of tasks in many companies doesn't follow this simple principle.

you are a manager or a leader , please Explain about Your management
and your leadership that you apply to your company and your employee ?
I am as a manager( Executive Housekeeper) Hotel, i have 200 guest rooms , 7 trolleys , and 10 room attendants .
and there will be 200
new guests arrival group from BANK INDONESIA due to check in for a week,
and then
there will be 180 new guests arrival group from STP SAHID
due to check in for a week , and 20 expected arrival VIP guests due to
check in for a week at the same week , and 200 new guests arrival group
from UNIVERSITAS INDONESIA for 2 weeks .Nowdays , my hotel is getting busy estimate for a month and almost are GROUP GUESTS and every guests are easily come and easily go in my hotel so i as a manager really need to manage the times , my employees, my expense costs, and the most important is my employee’s well being . and i must control them , manage them , and lead them as well as my management.
Because of nowdays is the busy time, my employees always take 10 hours work times , but ussually they only take 8 hours for work time , they also getting busy and crazy to my consist of management.
Oneday , my employees complained due to their own time, they complained due to my management ,
they complained due to my leadership , they complained due to their own
leave days , the complained due to their off days , they complained due
to their own salary , and also they complained due to their exhaustion.
I am as the manager worried enough due to their complaint
and grumble .
I need to take step for
them .
So i decided to :
1st
: i will take care my employees , i will make full schedule and i will
give only one off day for them a week ,during to the hotel full
occupancy , because i already think , and estimate it only takes a month
of full occupancy after a difficult month pass i will give each my
employess their own rights, to have time for leave days and to have off
days . and also i will ask some public area attendants to help room
attendant due to stripping rubbish in the rooms , stripping linens due
to checked out rooms during hotel full accupancy , so that help room
attendant upon cleaning the rooms , this way make room attendant work
easier , work faster , and work quickly.
2nd
: i will take care my employees : they have been worked for 10 hours
everydays, and also one day off day a week .
but
actually they only have 8 hours work times everyday and 2 off days
every week , Because of it. i also will give them get extra salary ,
more salary to change and to pay their 2 hours pass everydays . i will
pay for 1 day for their replacement schedule . and i also will give them
first class letters (word) or kind of Quotes for appreciating ,for
celebrating , for value , for thanks giving , of their hard work for a
difficult days during hotel full occupancy.
3rd
: i will take care my employess : i will give them supplement and milk
for their healthy every day during hotel full occupancy .
4th
: i will take care my guests : i already gave my employees their
well-being and prosperity during to the hotel full occupancy , i will
make sure that my employee work hardly , working well , working
genuinely , and peacefully
due to my management and leadership . i will make sure that they will
give the best services or services excellent due to our guests . i will
make sure that they clean rooms everyday without any pass left behind of
cleaning rooms.
5th : i will save the costs : because nowdays
are fully occupancy . i will ask all of my employees to provide what
guest needs as well as their room rates , because almost of my guests
are group guest , i will ask my employees to give the best service ,
services exellent .but actually for the amenities , for the utilities ,
for the magazine , newspaper does not be setted up in the room , i will
decrease requirement each needs of my guests, and i will stock many
things from the guest rooms during hotel full occupancy . and if the
guest ask for requirement and needs of them to the room attendant or
order taker (by phone ) therefore , i wouldn’t mind to give what they
need . (as well as guest requests).
